Fun with stencil techniques

Image
Today I finally watched the SCT Let’s stamp together class with spellbinders from May. I had fun playing with the stencils, stamps and dies from this set. The first one I used a Honeybee embossing folder for the background. I like to spray the paper a bit before using 3D embossing folders and a lot of times I use perfect pearls water or tsuniko sparkle spray, this time I used the sparkle spray. On the second card with the die cuts I used twisted citron distress oxide and salvaged patina, and then Simon Hurley solar paste in the yellow. I thought it would be more transparent than it turned out so the salvaged patina didn’t show up too well. The rest of this card was following the die cuts and layout from spellbinders. The yellow card was by far the quickest, using stencils. The final card used modeling paste and glitter with the stencil. It is gorgeous in person, but I think I have glitter all through the house now! For me, I really enjoy using products like the solar paste, lunar ...

Birthday card

It’s been a while! I participated in the Concord &9th Summer camp, had a crafty retreat weekend, and then I was ill last weekend. Which meant creating this card was last minute! I think it turned out pretty good for a quick card.  My husband’s grandmother turns 100 next week and I’ve been thinking of card ideas for weeks, and I was able to pull it together quickly. I used the spellbinders scrolled punch & pierce plate from the four petal collection and cut Concord &9th midnight cardstock. I backed this with Spellbinders glacier cardstock. I cut the flowers from Spellbinders stylish ovals hello you floral etched dies from various cardstock and then highlighted them with ink blending. I added this to the front and added a Pinkfresh sentiment and numbers from The Greetery. Add some shimmer spray and gemstones from Gina K and I think I used more companies on this one card than ever before. 😀

Baby cards!

I loved the piecing die from the citrus suite from summer camp so much, and I thought it was perfect to pull together some cute baby cards. Funny enough I ordered this paper before I saw the die and I was getting ready to make a lot! This die turned out to be perfect for this so I spent the weekend making baby cards, a theme I’ve rarely made. I ended up with a lot of cute cards over about a day or so. The first two are normal a2 size cards, the rest are smaller notecard size which I think are perfect to accompany gifts. I used Echo Park paper and all Concord &9th dies and stamps.
