Lindys magical powders and embossing folders

Image
These magical powders are indeed magical! Each set seems to have a different type of shimmer or shine and they all work well together. So far I’ve tried them with emboss resist with white stamp embossing, and using embossing folders as shown here. For this technique, I sprinkled the powder in the embossing folding (a little goes a long ways!), spritzed with water, added watercolor paper and ran thru my die cut machine. The results are gorgeous! And once I start, I can’t seem to stop until I run out of watercolor paper! 😂  The design of these cards are simple, adding just a solid mat and sentiment, but with the gorgeous background, that’s all they need. Card workshop

Image
This past weekend I was asked teach a card workshop at a local craft retreat. It was a bit overwhelming designing the cards, coming up with interesting and new techniques, and getting all of the supplies ready for the event. Below are pictures of the cards with descriptions of the techniques. These were the easiest cards. We sprayed thin black cardstock with perfect pearls spray, embossed with a 3D embossing folder. After it dried, we highlighted the flowers with metallic wax. Spellbinders embossing folder and sentiment dies. This card took the longest because of the layered stencils. We used white pigment ink first, then offset a bit using the lightest ink color and then added the next layer. Gina K layered stencil, spellbinders sentiment dies. This is another one using an embossing folder with Lindys magical powder. The embossing folders definitely make the biggest difference for the amount of work involved! Concord & 9th In the classroom color edition

Image
Concord & 9th held a virtual event in March with exclusive product and a sampling of the new colors that would be released in April. It was my first time attending a Concord & 9th event and it definitely won’t be my last! These are a couple of cards I made with the products. They also included a color swatch stamp and die set that I have yet to play with to find different color combos.

Gina K Designs New Poly-glaze Card fronts!

Image
While I love my Spellbinders glimmer machine for foiling, these new Poly-glaze sheets from Gina K intrigued me and I fell in love with the Easter bunny design! I broke out my laminator to try them out. The foiling wasn’t perfect, but I don’t have a mini machine which would have worked better. I wasn’t crazy about the deco foil choices I had on hand. But even so, adding a bit of copic coloring and a Gina K Easter die, and these turned out beautifully! Gina K Polyglaze sheets Gina K Easter die
